Frederic Oumar Kanoute, born 2 September 197, is a French-born footballer of Malian origin who presently performs for Sevilla FC in the Spanish La Liga, and is noted for his tempo, energy, and technique. On 2 February 2008, Kanoute was named the 2007 African Footballer of the Year becoming the very first foreign-born player to win it.

Gattuso is a tough player and at his best was broadly considered to be among the best defensive midfielders worldwide. In the course of his career at Milan, he won the Champions League, in 2002-03 and 2006-07, as well as the Serie A title in 2003-04 and 2010-11. He also got a key role in Italy's World Cup triumph in 2006.
