Frederic Oumar Kanoute, born 2 September 197, is a French-born footballer of Malian origin who presently performs for Sevilla FC in the Spanish La Liga, and is noted for his tempo, energy, and technique. On 2 February 2008, Kanoute was named the 2007 African Footballer of the Year becoming the very first foreign-born player to win it.
